The Zonta Club of Greater Dhaka has successfully installed two sanitary napkin vending machines at Bharateswari Homes, a significant step toward improving menstrual health and hygiene for young women. This initiative, made possible by a generous sponsor from the United States who shares Zonta’s vision for women’s health, also includes 200 prepaid cards to ensure dignified and easy access to menstrual products.
The installation was completed two weeks ago, and today marked the official inauguration ceremony. The event was attended by distinguished Zonta members, including:

Currently serving as a UN consultant, Dr. Khanum brought a deeply personal connection to the ceremony, being a proud alumni of Bharatishwari Homes. The inauguration brought together students from classes 8, 9, and 10, along with the principal and staff. The President of Zonta Club delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of menstrual hygiene and Zonta’s commitment to empowering women. Dr. Khanum’s heartfelt speech, sharing her journey from student to global advocate, resonated deeply with the young audience, bridging generations and reinforcing the value of education and well-being.
