On December 7, 2024, the Zonta Walkathon at Ramna Park was a significant event in the 16 Days of Activism of Violence against Women. This initiative brought together community members and leaders to raise awareness and promote action against gender-based violence.

Our collaboration with the Bangladesh Girl Guide Association highlighted the importance of youth involvement, while participants and people around the park as well received T-shirts, mugs, and towels featuring powerful messages against violence.

The event attracted considerable media attention, with interviews of the President and Governor by various press and TV channels, amplifying our message. The primary goal was to educate and inspire action within our communities, creating a ripple effect of awareness. A touching moment occurred when participants released pigeons as a symbol of peace, balloons with placards of messages against violence representing our hope for a future free from violence.

Overall, the Zonta Walkathon was a resounding success! We are grateful to everyone who participated and supported this vital cause. Together, we are making strides toward a world without violence against women.
